What are we striving to do?
Together, the members of SEPTA work hard to strongly encourage a better understanding of special education, in order to augment the lives of these exceptional young students. The primary goals of SEPTA is to guarantee that every child with special needs attending Region 15 school system receives an education that allows them to reach their full potential. Other, equally important goals of our group include:
• Educating parents and families about special education; including placement & identification procedures for children with special needs.
• Informing legislators, school boards and the community about the importance of special ed programs.
• Advocating the right for a free and appropriate public education for children with special needs, in the least restrictive environment.
• Working to improve the educational experience for children with disabilities by providing them with culturally, socially and physically stimulating experiences.
